Ruth AkinyiUse a maps app on your phone to follow the route while you travel, if your data and battery allow. Confirm the route and destination with the conductor or another reliable source before boarding. Do not rely only on a vehicle's appearance or a route number you have not verified. If the route is unfamiliar, ask where the vehicle will drop you and whether you will need to change vehicles. For an important appointment, allow extra time in case you need to change routes or walk from the stage.

Ask before you board. Confirm with the conductor or a stage attendant that the vehicle goes where you need and where it will drop you. A quick question is better than finding out ten minutes later.

Learn the main landmarks along your route. Knowing the stops before and after yours helps you notice when the vehicle is going the wrong way.
