George MuliIf outages are frequent in your estate, keep a simple record of dates and durations. A list is more persuasive than a general complaint when you raise it with the utility or your landlord. If outages are frequent in your estate, keep a simple record of dates and durations. Check whether the outage affects only your house, your building, or the surrounding area. If only your house is affected, check your meter and distribution board if safe. Never touch exposed wires or damaged electrical equipment. For a wider outage or suspected supply problem, use Kenya Power's official reporting channels. Provide the location, nearest landmark, and relevant account or meter details, and retain the report reference.

First rule out a problem inside your own home. Check whether your neighbours also have no power, and whether your main switch or circuit breaker has tripped. If only your home is affected, the problem may be internal.

If it is a wider outage, report it to Kenya Power through the official channels and give the exact location, nearest landmark and your meter or account number. A precise location helps crews find the fault faster.
