Eric OnyangoFollow up politely after a reasonable time with your reference number. If nothing happens, you can raise the matter with your ward representative or the county's formal complaints process.Follow up politely after a reasonable time with your reference number. Wambui KariukiFor immediate dangers such as live wires, fires or collapsed structures, do not rely on a normal complaint form. Keep people away and contact the relevant emergency service or utility straight away. For immediate dangers such as live wires, fires or collapsed structures, do not rely on a normal complaint form. Joy WambuiIf neighbours report the same problem, mention it in your report. Several reports about one location often carry more weight, and your ward representative's office can also push for action. If neighbours report the same problem, mention it in your report. Tabitha WanjiruFor blocked drains and flooding, mention whether water is entering homes or crossing a road. That affects how urgent the problem is, and the county can prioritise accordingly. For blocked drains and flooding, mention whether water is entering homes or crossing a road. Abdullahi HassanReport through the official county channel and write down the reference number. When you follow up, quoting that number is much more effective than describing the problem again from scratch.Report through the official county channel and write down the reference number. Identify the exact location, nearby landmark, estate or ward, and problem. Take a photo if safe to do so. Submit the complaint through the county's currently listed official service or reporting channel, and keep the reference number if one is issued. If there is an immediate danger, such as an exposed electrical wire or flooding near live electricity, keep away and notify the appropriate emergency or utility service.

Be specific. A report that says 'broken streetlight on the road near the shopping centre' is hard to act on. Give the estate or ward, the road name, a landmark, and how long the problem has existed.

A clear photo or short video, taken safely from where you stand, helps whoever receives the report to understand what is wrong. Do not stand in the road or approach exposed wires to get it.
