The Red Devils lost 3-0 as their poor start to the season continued – they have won just one of their eight Premier League matches so far and sit 16th – 14 points off the top.
Carrick, 45, took interim charge in January following Ruben Amorim’s departure and he was rewarded with the permanent job in May after securing Champions League qualification with an impressive run that resulted in them finishing third.
But United have not won in the top flight since 30 August, when they defeated newly promoted Ipswich 5-2.
“See what happens,” Carrick told BBC Sport when asked if he was expecting any conversations on his future.
“I’m not expecting anything. It’s just digesting today – we knew it was an important day to try and get us moving forward and we haven’t done that.
“For me it’s just digesting that and the emotions at the end of the game is something I’ve not really had before.”
