KeNHA Announces One-Month Closure of Key Section of Waiyaki Way
Story
The authority is conducting maintenance works along several roads in Nairobi, including drainage improvements and other infrastructure upgrades.
The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced that a section of Waiyaki Way between Villa Rosa Kempinski and the Museum Hill Interchange will be partially closed for one month to allow highway maintenance works.
In a notice obtained by Kenyans.co.ke, KeNHA said the restriction will affect the Mombasa-bound lanes from Thursday, October 8, to Saturday, November 7.
“KeNHA notifies the public that a section of Waiyaki Way (A8 Road) between Kempinski and Museum Hill Interchange on the Mombasa-bound lanes will be partially closed temporarily from Thursday, October 8, 2026, to Saturday, November 7, 2026. This closure is to allow for highway maintenance works on the road section,” the notice stated.
Motorists using the affected stretch will have to rely on the sections of the road that remain open during the works.
