Chaos as Police Fire Teargas at FKF Special General Meeting

FKF’s leadership dispute took a tense turn after police fired teargas at delegates awaiting a crucial meeting on Saturday morning.

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Special General Meeting in Meru was disrupted on Saturday, November 7, after police officers fired teargas canisters into the room at Three Steers Hotel, where delegates had gathered ahead of the scheduled proceedings.

In a statement, FKF said the meeting had not commenced after officers from the Police Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU) entered the venue and fired teargas into the room where delegates were waiting.

“The FKF Special General Meeting (SGM) is yet to commence following an incident in which officers from the Police Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU) moved into the meeting venue and discharged teargas into the meeting room, where delegates were seated awaiting the start of proceedings,” the federation confirmed.
