Kenya's DPP seeks Brian Kiprop Kiplagat's extradition to the UK over eight charges, including murder and fraud; Nairobi court ruling expected on November 19.
The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has formally asked a court in Nairobi to approve the extradition of Brian Kiprop Kiplagat to the United Kingdom, where he faces charges including the alleged murder of fellow Kenyan Marianne Kilonzi.
Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions Duncan Ondimu, who is leading the prosecution, told the court that British authorities are seeking Kiplagat over alleged offences committed in Woolwich, in the Borough of Greenwich, between January 12 and January 28, 2025.
The Westminster Magistrates' Court has issued warrants against Kiplagat on eight counts: murder, man-slaughter, two counts of perverting the course of justice, and four counts of fraud by false representation.
