You Gave Me My First TV Appearance - Sifuna Praises Okwara After Citizen TV Exit

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has credited Yvonne Okwara with giving him his first television appearance.

In a statement on Wednesday, October 28, Senator Sifuna wished Okwara well in her next endeavors following her exit from Citizen TV.

The Nairobi Senator recalled their conversations on the Explainer show and described Okwara as one of the best journalists.

“Wishing you all the best in your next chapter, Yvonne Okwara. I really loved our little talks on the Explainer.

“You are one of the best to ever do it. I won’t forget you gave me my first appearance on TV over 13 years ago. Forever grateful, God bless,” Sifuna wrote.

Okwara announced her departure from Citizen TV on Tuesday night, October 27, bringing an end to an eight-year stint at the Royal Media Services-owned station.

She revealed that she will be moving to building something else and urged viewers to keep asking the right questions and hold people in power to account.
